Jedinstvo Stara Pazova celebrate winning the Serbian Cup final
Stara Pazova, Serbia, February 20, 2017 - Jedinstvo from Stara Pazova made history over the weekend winning their first ever trophy of the Serbian Cup. In the final match of the 51st edition of this prestigious national competition, Jedinstvo dominated the match in front of their home crowd and prevailed over Dinamo from Pancevo with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-20) win, after 69 minutes of play.

With over 1000 spectators in attendance, including the highest officials from the Volleyball Federation of Serbia and numerous guests, sports professionals and media representatives, it was a memorable day for the sport.

Volleyball Federation of Serbia President Zoran Gajic presented the winners’ trophy to Sara Sakradzija, team captain of Jedinstvo from Stara Pazova. Djula Mester, Vice-President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, presented Nina Jakic, player of Jedinstvo, with the MVP of the Tournament trophy, while Zoran Bosic, regional sales director of the “Vip mobile” company - general sponsors of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, added a Huawei P9 mobile phone to her prize list.

Volleyball Federation of Serbia Secretary General Ivan Knezevic presented Dragana Markovic, team captain of Dinamo, with the consolation trophy.

"We assumed the role of favourites and we managed to live up to that. The match against Vizura in the semis was clearly a decider. I want to thank this wonderful crowd who carried us all the way," said Sara Sakradzija, team captain of Jedinstvo.

"When you win this trophy, one of three major trophies in Serbian volleyball, you must be satisfied. And this one came right on time. I think we deserved it, and in the same time this would be a great motivation for us in the upcoming championship battles," said Jovo Cakovic, head coach of Jedinstvo.

"I didn’t expect this prize for the MVP of the tournament, because we have so many great players in the team roster. However, I am so happy with it. We played well and hard, we prepared for this tournament and we deserved this trophy," said Nina Jakic, Jedinstvo blocker and MVP of the tournament.

"We are satisfied despite the loss. We came here very motivated, we did our best, reached the final, and that is our maximum for now. I am proud of my teammates," said Dragana Markovic, team captain of Dinamo.

"We have to congratulate our rivals, they were clearly the better team today. We were a little bit frightened, but still we had our chances. We must be satisfied with our performance at the Final Tournament," said Aleksandar Vladisavljev, head coach of Dinamo.
