Palestine federation organises mini-volleyball festival in Jenin
Jenin, Palestine, January 9, 2017 – The Palestine Volleyball Federation organised another successful mini volleyball festival in the Palestinian city Jenin in December.
The event marked the sixth year of its foundation in Palestine with more than 200 children, parents and city officials participating in the festival.
The sixth year of the mini volleyball festival highlighted the importance of developing the interest of youth in the sport, especially in the city of Jenin.
“Jenin must restore its glory again in volleyball because there is great interest in the game from schools and clubs,” Faqqua club head Adnan Abu Farha said. “I want to thank the participants and the national federation for its efforts in raising awareness of the sport.”
The mini volleyball festival had eight four age-group tournaments for both genders.
“This was such a great effort to organise a festival of this size,” national federation president Rene Zambil said. “We came to the right place because this is home to several age-groups with great levels of performance. The club really facilitated this festival very well."
Faqqua club and coach Rane Asfour received plaques of recognition, while the participants all received certificates.
