UPCN claim South American Club Championship

UPCN San Juan Voley won the South American Men's Club Championship in Sunday
San Juan, Argentina, February 15, 2015 – UPCN San Juan Voley defeated Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei in five sets 3-2 (25-21, 25-18, 27-25, 21-25, 16-14) to claim the South American Men’s Club Championship title and a spot at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship. Sada Cruzeiro Brazilian opposite Wallace was the top scorer of the match with 25 points.

UPCN’s victory in the fifteenth edition of the South American Men’s Club Championship is the first time a club from Argentina wins the competition for a second time, after claiming honours in 2013.

The tournament’s bronze medals went to another club from Argentina as Lomas Voley marched to victory against Tabauté/Funvic from Brazil 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-23, 25-23). Luis Felipe Marques was the highest scoring player in the final with 20 points for the Brazilian club. Argentina's Lomas were participating in an international competition for the first time.

UPCN opposite Nikolay Uchikov from Bulgaria was chosen as the competition’s MVP. He was also the club’s top scorer in the competition.
