Serbia Volleyball President included in list of top five leading sports figures in Serbia
Belgrade, Serbia, December 30, 2013 – At the end of each year the Serbian newspaper “Blic” draws up a list of the 50 most influential and powerful sports personalities in the country. Aleksandar Boricic, CEV Senior Vice President and President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, was ranked fifth this year.
Boricic is an FIVB Executive Vice-President and President of the FIVB Sports Events Council, which recently confirmed a four-year volleyball calendar and the expansion of the FIVB Volleyball World League and the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix.
The chart was topped by tennis star Novak Djokovic, with Tomislav Karadzic, the President of the Football Association of Serbia, in second place, and Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic, third.
The President of basketball club Crvena Zvezda BEOGRAD, Nebojsa Covic, was fourth, followed by Serbian Volleyball President Boricic in fifth place.
The top ten was rounded out by Dragan Dzajic, President of the football club Crvena Zvezda; Dusko Vujosevic, head coach of the Partizan basketball team; Vlade Divac, former basketball star and current President of the Olympic Committee of Serbia; Velimir Marjanovic, President of the Handball Association of Serbia; and Vanja Udovicic, a former water polo player and current Minister of Youth and Sports in the government of Serbia.
