President Graça proud of Putin meeting

 
President Graça explained to Russia President Vladimir Putin that the FIVB's goal is to have Russia as a base to develop volleyball and beach volleyball throughout the post-Soviet states

Moscow, Russia, June 3, 2013 – FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° said he was extremely pleased that Russia President Vladimir Putin warmly received his proposal to have Russia’s help to develop volleyball in the region.

President Putin warmly received President Graça’s vision to have Russia as a base to develop volleyball and beach volleyball throughout the post-Soviet states during a meeting at SportAccord on Thursday.

"I am very happy and honoured to be able to have the chance to meet and speak with President Putin," Dr. Graça said after the meeting. "I was very impressed with how he was very open and receptive to listening and learning about the FIVB's volleyball development plans. He was very encouraged by the vision and expressed his willingness for Russia to help as much as possible."

Russian Olympic Committee President Alexander Zhukov, who was also in attendance during the meeting, welcomed President Graça in Moscow following the SportAccord Convention where the details of the new volleyball development initiative in the region were firmed up and confirmed.

President Graça, who has pledged to develop volleyball around the world in order to improve the competitiveness of the sport across both volleyball and beach volleyball at international level, also had a similar meeting with the Turkey Sports Minister Suat Kiliç during SportAccord discussing a similar development initiative in countries surrounding Turkey.
