Vanuatu official attends Asian Volleyball Management Seminar
This seminar made practical use of the 2012 Asian Beach Volleyball Championship, which ran from November 1 to 4, to show good practice for event management including marketing, scheduling, court layout and officiating. With support from AVC, Westpac and Ridgway Blake, Vanuatu was able to send Bongmatur to the seminar to further develop Vanuatu’s event management and the Women in Sports programme. “After the closing of the Seminar, we were handed certificates acknowledging our participation and authorising each of us to go out into the field and carry out what we had learned,” Bongmatur said. “We were asked to make use of what we learnt and to help in the development of volleyball, not only in our country but, for me, throughout the Oceania region as well. This is a big responsibility – to not only benefit each of us, but our individual athletes, leagues, federations and countries at large.” Vanuatu Volleyball has requested the AVC to consider Vanuatu as the next host of the AVC Management Workshop, with the aim of allowing more Pacific National Federations to attend and to further train Vanuatu’s technical officials for the 2017 Mini Pacific Games in Vanuatu. On her return, the Vanuatu Volleyball Federation congratulated Bongmatur for her success in the AVC Management Course. Download highresolution |
