USA Men to
Compete at Inaugural Pacific Rim Sports Summit
Colorado, USA, February 16, 2005 – The USA men’s national
volleyball team will compete against athletes from China,
Australia and one other country at the 2005 Pacific Rim Sports
Summit in Washington USA from June 7-12, it was announced
Wednesday.
Archery, athletics, basketball, cycling (track), diving,
gymnastics, softball, synchronized swimming and Volleyball (men’s
indoor) comprise the nine sports competitions to be held at the
inaugural event, put on by the Seattle Organizing Committee, the
United States Olympic Committee and the nine USA sports National
Governing Bodies represented.
The Sports Summit, which will feature 900 athletes from nine
Pacific Rim countries: Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Korea,
Mexico, New Zealand, Russia and the United States.
The USA men, who ended the 2004 season with a record of 20-9 and
a fourth-place finish at the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece,
will compete at the Qwest Field Event Center in one of their
first events of the 2005-08 quadrennium. |
