Silva lining to latest Portuguese side

June 18, 2003 - Portugal's most experienced player Manuel Silva returns to Portugal's lineup after head coach Juan Diaz named his 12-man squad for Portugal's World League Pool B matches against Germany this weekend in Leipzig. Twenty-nine-year-old Silva, with more than 130 caps, missed last weekend's two defeats at the hands of Italy but returns this weekend in the place of Roberto Reis as both Portugal and Germany search for only their second win of the Intercontinental Rounds after they split their first meeting in Matosinhos, Portugal at the beginning of the month. The other change in the Portuguese lineup from last weekend sees libero Hugo Ribeiro replaced by Carlos Teixeira.
