June 16, 2003 - French coach Philippe Blain has omitted key players Frantz Granvorka and Luc Marquet in his latest 12-man team for his side's all-important trip to Japan for Week 6 of the Intercontinental Rounds this weekend.
France, who sit in third spot in Pool D, must win at least one of the two matches in Fukuoka to keep alive any chance of making the World League Final Round next month. Two losses will hand Greece second place in the Pool behind the Czech Republic and a possible qualifying spot for the Finals while bringing to an end an exciting roller coaster ride for France through the Intercontinental Rounds.
Granvorka was used sparingly last weekend, when France lost 3-2 to Greece in Paris on Friday night before hitting top gear on Sunday in a 3-0 whitewash of the visitors in Dijon. Marquet has restricted his overseas travel this year to spend more time with his family. Vincent Duhagon and Philippe Barca Cysique come into the team.
France: Vincent Duhagon, Hubert Henno, Dominique Daquin, Junot Mistoco, Jean-Charles Monneraye, Stéphane Antiga, Laurent Capet, Vincent Montmeat, Loïc Lemarrec, Philippe Barca Cysique, Mathias Patin, Sébastien Frangolacci
The two matches this weekend are on Saturday (8:00 GMT) and Sunday (8.00GMT)
