June 4, 2003 - Having split their last two World League matches with Italy last weekend the Brazilian team has finished it's final training session in Bologna and arrives in Portugal on Wednesday without their captain Nalbert.
The 29-year-old attacker has returned home to Rio de Janeiro.and will miss the next two weekends of matches, which sees Brazil, in Group B play Portugal on Saturday and Sunday in Matosinhos and Germany in Berlin the weekend after.
"It is going to be an active rest," Brazilian coach Bernardo Rezende said. "Already we prepare a programming of trainings that he should follow during the days in Rio. Afterwards he will reintergrate himself into the team that will play Italy, in Brazil in two weeks.
Meanwhile, another of Brazil's attacking weapons Gustavo has had a reoccurrence of his lower back problems and has missed the training sessions in Italy and is currently in doubt for this weekend.
