Bulgaria travel to Serbia and Montenegro for their second round of World League matches this weekend in what Bulgarian coach Milorad Kijac calls a tough ask.
Kijac's side are coming off one win (3-0) and one loss (2-3) against Cuba last weekend at home but for their next assignment in Pool C Kijac is under no illusions and admits winning a set against the European and Olympic champions Serbia and Montenegro will be a start.
"We had very little time for preparations and we also had problems with injuries to our players (for the first match) however, we succeeded in beating Cuba in the second match," he said. "As for our playing in Belgrade and Podgorica, we are under no illusions. It is enough to say that we are going to the home of the current Olympic and European Champion. Each set that we can win will be precious.
"I am surprised that they did not win against the Netherlands, which was to be expected. After this weekend's matches we then may be able to present ourselves in the best light."
The first match this weekend is on May 30 in Belgrade with the next match two days later in Podgorica.
