May 16, 2003 - Libero for the French national men's team Hubert Henno says his team will be relaxed and ready for tonight's opening match of the 2003 World League match when France take on the Czech Republic in Grenoble according to a report on Sport24.com. The 26-year-old says after the strain and pain of qualifying for the European Championship last weekend the Tricolors will be a lot more composed outfit tonight, despite the wear and tear of a hectic season.
"We are mentally and physically very tired because we haven't had a rest but our spirit is more free after it was discharged of the weight of qualifying for Europe," Henno said. "During the last part of the European Championship qualifying we saw the real French team and the consequence is all good because with this qualification, it bodes well for the end of the year".
France slipped into qualifying for the European Champs, allowing the bronze medalists at the 2002 World Championships time and space to manage their World League campaign.
"It won't be such a priority as the European qualifying matches and that is why certain players will be rested. Nevertheless, the pool is relatively difficult and one tries to make a good figure for qualifying for the final phase."
