Final Austrian Airlines Four Top Teams Cup ascertained - Women

Luxembourg, January 13, 2005 - Starting end of October 2004 with the qualification tournaments and continuing through until the end of the year with the main phase league round, the quarterfinal home & away matches of the Men's Austrian Airlines as well as the Women's Top Teams Cup have been played and the Final Four determined.

Four men's as well as four women's teams could distinguish themselves from the 80 participants (40 men's and 40 women's teams) coming from 28 European countries in order to fight for the desired trophy. The successor of defending champion Lokomotiv KHARKIV (UKR), who have unfortunately missed their chance of qualifying for this season's Indesit European Champions' League playoff round, will be decided between Ortec Nesselande ROTTERDAM (NED), Omniworld ALMERE (NED), Dukla LIBEREC (CZE) and Olympiacos PIRAEUS (GRE). Eczacibasi ISTANBUL (TUR), Eburon TONGEREN (BEL), TSV Bayer 04 LEVERKUSEN (GER), as well as Pallavolo CHIERI (ITA) are the four women's teams remaining in the Top Teams Cup 2004/05, all aiming to replace titleholder GŁnes Vakifbank ISTANBUL, the Turkish team that still stands a good chance of qualifying for this season's Indesit European Champions' League playoff round.

Both Final Four tournaments will be carried out on the weekend of 12th - 13th March 2005 with the venues being determined by the CEV Board of Administration in Almeria, Spain, on 22nd January 2005.
