La Paz, Bolivia, October 28, 2004 - After resting in the second round, the Brazilian
national team went back on the court last night (Wednesday) and
defeated Peru 3-0 ( 25-16, 25-16 and 25-23 ) at the XVII
South-American Women's Junior Tournament, played in La Paz,
Bolivia.
The green and yellow side, led by capitain Veronica
Brito, Natalia Manfrin and Cristina Caye needed only 69
minutes to confirm its second win in the tournament.
The only threat to the Brazilians seems to be
Argentina. In the other match of the third round, the
Argentines upset Venezuela 3-1 (25-21, 16-25, 25-14, 25-19)
in 96 minutes and are also unbeaten in the competition.
Setter Dina Gaido and powerfull Antonieta Bortolozzi
impressed the 800 people who attended the match at the "Julio
Borelli Viteritto" gymnasium.
Tonight (Thursday) on the fourth round, Brazil will
play against Venezuela, at 7.30 p.m., local time. In the
other march, hosts Bolivia will meet Argentina
