Santiago, Chile, October 2, 2004 - The Brazilian and Argentinean national teams qualified for the final of the XVII South Amrican Men's Junior Championship after beating Venezuela and Chile respectively in the semifinals on Saturday.
In the first semifinal, Brazil had an easy win over Venezuela. The green and yellow team needed no more than one hour and ten minutes to win the match 3-0 ( 25-12, 25-23, 25-18 ) and assure themselves a place in the World Championship as the two top teams qualify for the competition.
In the second game, played again in a crowded Gimnasio Polideportivo de Ņuņoa, the Chilean side could not compete against Argentina's superiority and was beaten 3-0 ( 25-18, 25-20, 25-22) in one hour and 13 minutes.
Chile and Venezuela will meet on Sunday in the play off for bronze followed by the gold medal match.
