Beleida, Algeria, September 30, 2004 - Three African sides and one Asian side reached the semifinals of the Volleyball competition of the 10th All Arab Games in Beleida, Algeria after the final matches of the preliminary round on Thursday. Egypt and Algeria qualified from Pool A while Saudi Arabia and Tunisia progressed from Pool B.
In the third day of the preliminary round the newly blooded Egyptian team had an important straight sets victory over Algeria to head Pool A and qualify to the semifinal with Algeria finishing second in the group.
In Pool B, Tunisia collected an important 3-2 victory over Qatar in a thriller to finish second behind leaders Saudi Arabia who had earlier collected a well-worked 3-1 victory over Tunisia on Wednesday.
In Friday's semifinals Egypt will meet Tunisia while Saudi Arabia play Algeria.
