8th Boys U-19 African Nations Championship Day two - Egypt close in on World Championship spot

Durban, South Africa, September 29, 2004 - Egypt took a step closer to claiming a World Championship spot after defeating their archrivals Tunisia in a 3-2 thriller (25-19, 24-26, 25-20, 22-25, 15-12) in 112 minutes at the 8th Boys U-19 African Nations Championship in Durban, South Africa on Wednesday.

Two African teams will qualify for the 2005 Boys U-19 World Championship, with another vacancy going to the possible organizer Algeria, so Egypt's second win of the tournament leaves them as the only unbeaten side after two days.

Egypt's victory came in a match everyone called "the early final" with the two big African teams providing a great contest of thrilling Volleyball.

The hosts South Africa also collected a valuable victory beating Algeria 3-2 in another exciting match which also ended in a tiebreaker (25-20, 25-23, 18-25, 18-25, 17-15).
