2005 FIVB World Grand Prix European Qualification Tournament - Germany and the Netherlands collect win number three
Turkey fans turned out in great numbers to watch their side lose to Germany in four sets

Ankara, Turkey, September 23, 2004 - Germany and Netherlands remain the co-leaders of the 2005 FIVB World Grand Prix European Qualification tournament here in Ankara, Turkey after collecting their third successive victories with wins over Turkey and Romania respectively on Thursday.

Germany booked a 3-1 (11-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-23) win over hosts Turkey, while the Netherlands dismissed Romania 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-16). In the other game of the day European champions Poland collected their second victory of the tournament with a straight sets 25-17, 25-15, 25-18 win over Bulgaria.

After three days of play in the six-team single round robin event, four teams - Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Turkey - are still in contention for the three tickets to the 2005 FIVB World Grand Prix. With a rest day scheduled for Friday a crucial clash between the Netherlands and Germany on Saturday will decide who will win the event.

Poland kept alive their chances with victory over Bulgaria, but they still have a tough schedule with matches against Turkey and Germany to come. Together with Turkey, Poland will fight for one place, while it is almost sure that Netherlands and Germany will qualify.
