FINAL FOUR 2004 OFFICIAL PRESS CONFERENCE IN CAMPIDOGLIO

Rome. July 8 2004 - World League Final Four official press conference took place this morning in Rome at the Campidoglio, the House of the Mayor. The event will be played for the first time in the Italian Capital next July 16th-18th.

The contest celebrates the XV edition this year, and has a total amount of prizes of $ 13,000,000. The best teams of the World will be involved. Three teams are already qualified for the Final Four, even if the Intercontinental qualification rounds will be over next week-end (July 9th-11th): World Champion Brazil; Sydney Olympic golden medal Serbia & Montenegro; European Champion Italy. The fourth one will come from Pool B among Bulgaria (most probably), France and Poland.

Gianni Rivera, Sport menaging director for the city of Rome and former very famous football player: "The City is honoured to organise such an important event together with the Italian Volleyball Federation. This Final Four is the first step of an organisation going to host the Menís European Championship next year".

Italian Federation President Carlo Magri points out this co-operation: "The close feeling between volleyball and the City of Rome is very well-know. We have been working together successfully for a long time. World League Final Four is the first step to Menís European Championship 2005. We are also going to celebrate the Menís World Championship 2006 drawing in Rome next Friday. It could be a good chance to talk about the possibility to host 2010 Menís World Championship in Rome, a logical conclusion of the course we are following".

The sparkling journalist Paola Saluzzi, Final Four image sponsor, stressed out an Organisation Committeeís important promotion: "Children from 6 up to 10 years old will pay the daily ticket only 2 Euros and their parents will have a 50% off. A great idea who sends a clear message: letís take children to watch volleyball, a fair and amazing sport".
