Beijing, China, May 13, 2004 - The Cuba women's Volleyball national team will play two tournaments in China later this month, according to reports reaching here Thursday.
The Cuban team comprises 14 players who will travel on Saturday to China for the competition as part of their training plan for the coming World Grand Prix and Athens Olympic Games. The Cubans will compete in tournaments in Harbin and Tianjin, respectively on May 20-23 and 25-28, with the national teams of Poland and China. They will then go to Switzerland's Montreaux city to contest the international tournament.
The most eye-catching figure in the Cuban team is veteran Ana Ibis Fernandez, the only athlete with three Olympic titles playing in the national team that seeks to win another Olympic Games gold.
