Dakar, Senegal, May 05, 2004 - Pipelines of Kenya returned to the top of African women's Volleyball after claiming the trophy in the 19th Women's African Cup of Club Champions in Dakar, Senegal. The Kenyans produced a stunning victory over Bejaia of Algeria in the final in straight sets: 25-15, 25-11, 26-24. Egypt's Al-Ahly came third after their 3-0 victory over Inter club of Congo Brazzaville.
Piplines had a relatively easy time in penetrating the weak Algerian block due to the effective spikes of Leonidas Kamende and Edith Murunga. The third set produced the game's most excitement after Bejaia re-organised their defense before narrowly going down 26-24.
