Porto, Portugal, May 04, 2004 - Portugal produced a fine display of Volleyball to defeat the Cuban men's national team by three sets to one in Porto on Monday. In a match that lasted one hour and 44 minutes, the final scoreboard read 25-19, 27-25, 21-25, 25-23 in favour of the Portuguese.
Manuel Silva and Hugo Gaspar starred for the home side, scoring 14 points each during the match while their team-mate, Joao Josť, notched up 11 points. Meanwhile, Cuba's Raydel Poey Romero and Yenry Bell Cisnero led the Cuban challenge with 13 points each.
The two sides are scheduled to do battle again on Tuesday, May 04 in Vila do Conde.
