April 24, 2004 - Senegal will host the 19th Womenís African Cup of Clubs Champions in Dakar from April 24 - May 2, 2004. Although the defending champions, Al-Ahly of Egypt will play without their retired superstar, Tahani Toson, they remain favorites to win the title especially after their strong preparation work in Turkey recently.
Pipelines of Kenya are considered the tournamentís second favorites as they include more than half of the Kenyan National team which qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games. Players such as the spiker Lucy Chege, the libero Mercy Wesutila and centre blocker, Catherine Wanjiro will all take part for Kenya.
The competition also includes renowned teams like Bejaia of Algeria, Inter club of Congo Brazzaville, Injs of Cameroon, VCDCMP of RD Congo and VBC Friguiagbe of Guinea Conakry.
