August 20, 2003 - The Czech Republic continued their magnificent World League form and good run against France with a 3-2 (16-25 29-27 22-25 29-27 15-11) come-from-behind victory in the opening game of a four-nation tournament in Jablonec, Czech Republic.
Russia and Serbia and Montenegro are the two other teams competing.
The Czech Republic won the last two matches against France in the World League Intercontinental Rounds as they progressed towards qualifying for the Final Round by finishing top of their pool. France finished third.
The good news for France is that captain Dominique Daquin has joined the team in Jablonec having recovered from an ankle injury, which earlier reports suggested it would rule him out of the entire tournament.
France next plays in the four-nation tournament against Russia on Wednesday, before playing Serbia and Montenegro on Thursday and Russia again on Sunday.
