August 13, 2003 - The German national team completed a double over Romania on Sunday with a 3-1 (24-26, 25-22, 25-14, 25-20) win in the second of two friendly matches in Riedstadt-Goddelau . Earlier on Saturday Germany had won in straight sets.
While national coach Stelian Moculescu played with Frank Dehne, Christian Pampel, Wolfgang Kuck, Björn Andrae, Georg Wiebel, Norbert Walter and libero Sebastian Prüsener in the first match, Sunday's match saw a completely different line up: Ilja Wiederschein, Marco Liefke, Eugen Bakumovski, Mark Siebeck, Ralph Bergmann, Norbert Walter and libero Till Lieber scored for Germany. Wiebel substituted Walter at the end of the match.
Moculescu said after the two matches; „My players had to win, and that’s what they did. Today we lifted 20 tons of iron again, therefore they did very well.”
