Poland confirmed as organizers of Europe's 2004 World Grand Prix preliminaries

Luxembourg, July 22, 2003. For the very first time in the history of the FIVB World Grand Prix, the prestigious FIVB annual women's competition and carrier of one million dollars in prize money, Europe will have the privilege to organize its own preliminary round for the 2004 edition. Following the appointment of Italy as the organizing country for the World Grand Prix Finals for the next three years, Poland has been confirmed as the hosts of a World Grand Prix preliminary round in August this year where three European teams will be able to confirm their participation in the 2004 World Grand Prix along with Italy. The tournament will take place in Pila from August 26-31 and bring together the teams of Russia, Germany, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Greece and Poland as the organizer. This tournament will be disputed in a single round robin format with each team playing against each other once. Following the five competition days, the best three-ranked teams will confirm their participation in the FIVB World Grand Prix 2004.
