“Luck goes together with hard work,” Dr Graça says

FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° attended the NORCECA Executive Committee meeting prior to its XXII Congress in Tijuana, Mexico
Tijuana, Mexico, October 31, 2013 – FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° lauded the NORCECA Confederation, which he considered a role model to be followed by other confederations within FIVB, and the progress it has achieved in the past few years.

“I want to congratulate all of you for your hard work to attain all the goals you have been able to achieve,” Dr. Graça said to open the meeting of the NORCECA Executive Committee and Board of Administration, prior to its biennial Congress.
“People always talk about someone being lucky, but over the years I have reached the conclusion that the lucky people are always those who work harder than the rest,” he said.

The FIVB President also was in accordance with the idea of creating a new age-category for players under 15 years old to be presented in the NORCECA Congress, as a way to develop and promote the sport.

“We need to develop our sport and put the money where we can see visible returns,” he said. “And we also need to have an active participation of people in our meetings and your meetings.”

Dr. Graça was introduced by the NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz who then proceeded to explain the agenda of the XXII Congress to be held on November 2-3 and the Seminar of Development and Sport Management that will precede the assembly on November 1 at Grand Hotel Tijuana.

“It is a real honor to have the visit of the President of the FIVB to our Congress and to this meeting of our Executive Committee and Board of Administration,” Mr Marte Hoffiz said. “We are going to have a full agenda for the next three days, including the seminar for the National Federations of category I and II, and I am sure that it will be a very successful and productive congress.”
