The FIVB Executive Committee approved new dates in October for the FIVB Volleyball Under 23 World Championships which will held for the first time ever in 2013 |
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, December 15, 2012 – The FIVB Executive Committee approved the 2013 FIVB volleyball calendar which was proposed by the Sports Events Council and included new dates for some of the age group World Championships.
The major changes sees the Women’s and Men’s Under 23 World Championship Open tournaments, which will be staged by the FIVB for the first time ever in 2013, move from July and August respectively to similar dates in October.
The only other changes sees the dates of the FIVB Club World Championships firm up while the Women's Under 20 World Championship in the Czech Republic and Girls Under 18 World Championship in Thailand move later in the months of June and July respectively.

The host cities for the Club World Championships, World League Finals and the two Under 23 World Championship Open events are still to be confirmed.
* The FIVB has asked the Thailand organisers to postpone the date of the Girls' Under 18 World Championship one week later to avoid a clash with other international sporting events. The confirmed dates will be announced once confirmation is received.
