TECHNICAL AND DEVELOPMENT
African National Federation representatives made significant contributions to the second FIVB Congress Seminar,
focused on development for emerging Category I and II federations – there were 39 African delegations among
the 126 FIVB Category I and II Federations
Louis Rwakiranya of Burundi said he was “happy to see the respect from all the world of volleyball“ for his country’s achievement in the first African Junior Beach Cup
FIVB CONGRESS WORKSHOP
In September, the second edition of
the FIVB Congress Workshop brought
together 159 delegates from 128
countries for a discussion focused
mainly on development for emerging
Federations. The unprecedented level
of participation in this event allowed
for an open and transparent dialogue
between the FIVB and National
Federation representatives – including
many who do not get many chances to
voice opinions on such topics as global
development strategy, the Development
Fund, and FIVB international relations.
The workshop let National Federation
representatives help direct FIVB
development programmes so that they
respond to real needs and support
development objectives.
