Belgrade, Serbia, April 26, 2014 – The opening ceremony of the 2014 Vip Beach Masters, the 7th edition of Serbian national championship beach volleyball tour, and the 3rd Vip Beach Volley League was held in Belgrade in the presence of distinguished guests and representatives of the hosts cities, volleyball players and media.

The guests were addressed by Aleksandar Boricic, CEV Senior Vice President and President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, Dejan Turk, Director of Vip mobile company, and Young Woong Li, Managing Director of LG Electronics - general sponsor of the 7th Vip Beach Masters 2014.

At the beginning of the ceremony a letter from Serbia’s Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovicic was read out to the audience.  “Beach volleyball is an Olympic sport and I am glad that it is successfully developed and popularised in Serbia over the years,” the letter stated.  “Every project that stimulates children and young people and then the entire population to embrace sports as an integral part of their lives will encounter the full support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

“Through this competition, beach volleyball is developed to be a professional sport in Serbia.  With hard work and perseverance, I hope that one day it will achieve the popularity and the success that indoor volleyball has in Serbia.  I invite everyone to follow carefully this competition, I urge parents to take their children to see it and then try it for themselves, and the athletes and Serbian teams to continue with hard training and try to be in top shape for the most prestigious international tournaments.”
