Maoming, China, 19 August - A packed stadium witnessed a repeat of the final of the 2001 World Championship final for the final of the China Open in Maoming.

The crowds enjoyed a thrilling match, which turned victorious again for the 2001 World Champions Adriana Behar/Shelda [BRA]. In the final they faced their compatriots Sandra Pires/Minello [BRA] and after 66 minutes, they finally succeeded with a grueling 2 sets to 1 victory (21-18,18-21,17-15).

Earlier today, both Brazilian teams beat their opponents in semifinals action when Adriana Behar/Shelda had an easier than expected 2-0 over the Xi/Chiong (CHN), and Sandra Pires/Minello had to go to a tie breaker to defeat Cook/Pottharst [AUS] 2- 1 (18-21, 21-19, 15-9).

A very strong bronze medal match also ensured, with Cook/Pottharst defeating host country favorites Chi/Xiong 2-1 (21-19,19-21,15-11).
