For visa applications of the
participating players and coaches each respective
necessary personal information such as nationalities,
passport numbers, profession, locations for obtaining the
visas, visiting time duration, flight schedule , etc. must
be sent to the Chinese Volleyball Association through the
athlete respective National Volleyball Federation.
Lianyunguang lies in the inner
coast of west pacific ocean, which was listed in 1988 as one
of the first 14 coastal cities opened to the outside world
by the China government; it is also the east terminal of the
New Silk Road - The New Eurasia Continental Bridge, and is a
rising centre of industry, foreign trade and tourism in east
China. Lianyungang boasts a unique mixture of scenery, sea
and mountains, among them Yuntai Mountain is a state-level
scenic site. Lianyungang has a population of 4.05 million
people and covers an area of 7,444KM2. During the fast
developments during the past 20 years, has the modern port
of Lianyungang been built, a growing city, a new industrial
city and an important tourist city.
Lianyungang is an ancient but also a young
city. The land formed 1.6 billon years ago and saw human
activity as early as 100,000 years ago. Lianyungang is an
important tourist city with beautiful surroundings. With
mountains meeting the sea and islands facing the port,
Lianyungang has 14 tourist areas and 116 scenic spots. Among
them are the Huaguo
Mountain park, charming beach,
waterfall and hot springs in Donghai, the ancient
Haizhou Town and forest park. Lianyungang
City is just like a pearl surrounded by blue sea and green
mountains.
The scenery Lian Island was chosen as
the venue for 2003 Swatch-FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour
China Women’s Open this summer. Lian Island occupies an area
of 7.75 square km and a total costal line. Lian Island is
nicknamed as the Oriental Hawaii for its crystal-blue sea
and natural quality beach lido-Dashawan Beach. This August,
players from many corners of the world will meet together at
Dashawan Beach presenting for a hottest game ever
At present, Lianyuguang connects
internationally with 5 sister cities: Napier (New
Zealand), Great Geelong (Australia), Sakai (Japan), Saga (Japan),
Mokpu(Korea).
Lianyungang is a precious city for development, hot place
for tourism and investment. It is warmly welcome for the
friends from both home and abroad to experience the great
opportunities Lianyungang has to offer. Lianyungang is
mysterious today and glorious tomorrow.
The Organizer
will welcome participating teams at Qingdao and Lianyungang
airports and provide transportation free of charge between
the airport and the official hotel provided that players
inform 4 days in advance the Organizers of their
arrival information , such information shall include arrival
date, time, and flight number.
