TEAM PROFILE

Vegard Hoidalen & Jorre André Kjemperud

Proving that age is no barrier to success, Norway’s Vegard Hoidalen and Jorre André Kjemperud have been battling it out with the Beach Volleyball’s finest since 1995 and as the years have past so this pair has gone from strength to strength. In fact, the 2003 Swatch–FIVB World Tour represented one of the best ever seasons for this team when they finished 8th on the end of year team rankings.

Being constantly referred to as one of the oldest and longest serving teams on the Swatch-FIVB World Tour can’t be healthy for the respective egos of Hoidalen and Kjemperud, however, the duo enjoy laughing off suggestions that they’re past it and take particular delight in tormenting many of their younger foes on court.

Hoidalen is one of the most colorful and formidable of competitors on the World Tour. A Beach Volleyball pro since 1995, he stands at an impressive 193cm and although he has been playing Beach since the age of 11 he still puts in a weekly regime of 20-30 hours of training. His playing partner, Kjemperud is a little more circumspect but equally efficient.

Vegard Hoidalen and Jorre André Kjemperud enjoy tremendous support from their army of traveling Norwegian fans, all of whom help to add to the spectacular atmospheres generated at all Swatch-FIVB World Tour events.
