One
of the more athletic teams on the women’s
SWATCH-FIVB World Tour, Annett Davis and
Jenny Johnson Jordan are seeking to become
the first United States Beach Volleyball
team to play in back-to-back Olympic
Games.
Former college teammates at tradition-rich
UCLA, Davis and Johnson Jordan resumed
full-time competition together on the
beach in 2003 after both giving birth to a
baby boy and daughter respectively in
2001.
In seven SWATCH-FIVB World Tour events
last season, the pair posted two fourths
and four fifths en-route to earning more
than US$77,500. They finished fourth at
the 2003 World Championships to conclude
the season.
This successful American team has captured
over eight pro Beach Volleyball titles in
their career together, including
international wins in 1999 in Portugal and
2000 in Marseille. The duo also finished
second at the 1999 FIVB Beach Volleyball
World Championship at the same French
venue.
Prior to competing on the two-person
circuit, Davis and Johnson Jordan teamed
with Gabrielle Reece and Stephanie Cox to
lead the United States to the four-person
title at the 1997 FIVB Beach Volleyball
World Championship in Los Angeles.
