As the capital city of the People's Republic of China, Beijing is the nation's political and cultural center and also a center for international contacts. With a recorded history of Beijing as a city dated back to more than 3,000 years ago, the magic city features numerous scenic spots.

Among them, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, the Peking Man Site at Zhoukoudian, the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace are on the UNESCO List of World Heritage. Beijing Opera is also the important and influential opera form for Chinese audiences and is now regarded as a nationally accepted form.

Lying in the east 4th ring road, Chaoyang Park is largest Green Park in the urban area. Beach Volleyball for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be staged in a 12,000-seats stadium in the heart of the park. As one of the most famous parks for recreation, Chaoyang Park has many modern projects to accompany the Olympic Beach Volleyball Tournament. The Sun Park Wheel (observation wheel) is one of the wonders. Standing 208 meters high, north-east to the Olympic Beach Volleyball Ground, it will become the world’s largest observation wheel.
