Video: Saxton in beast mode on the block

Camille Saxton commanded the Canadian net defence that led to their win in the first set against Louise Bawden/Nicole Laird of Australia

Lausanne, Switzerland, March 23, 2017 – Canada's Camille Saxton was on fire on the block during her 2-0 (21-18, 21-16) semifinal win with Julie Gordon against Australia's Louise Bawden and Nicole Laird at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Sydney event at Manly Beach on Sunday.

Sydney 2-Star
Canada’s Julie Gordon commended her partner Camille Saxton for her excellent performance that gave the pair back-to-back gold medals in Australia

Saxton became the player of the moment when she showed excellent blocking technique to seal the first set win for Canada. Nicole Laird had three attempts in the rally, where Saxton got block contact on the first two attempts before finally stamping the third attempt with a successful block.

Gordon and Saxton are on a winning streak on Australian soil, as they claimed gold in Sydney after topping the podium in Shepparton.
