The FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour
returns to Canada for the first time since 2007 from
July 19-24 as Quebec plays host to its first ever World Tour event.
Although the country has hosted a total of seven events (three in
Toronto and four in Montreal) it is the first time the circuit has
landed in the French-speaking city. The last time an event took
place in Canada it was USA's Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor who
finished out on top, beating China's Chen Xue and Xi Zhang to the
gold while Adriana Behar and Sheila claimed bronze. Elsewhere,
Brazil's Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos secured the men's crown
with a win over Australians Andrew Schacht and Josh Slack as Harley
Marques and Pedro Salgado finished third. Quebec sits on the east
coast of Canada and is the largest province in Canada. Below and left are the winners of the
2007 event in Montreal Misty May-Treanor (left) and Kerri Walsh.
