Gstaad, Switzerland, December 1, 2011 – Tickets for the 2012 FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tout 1to1 energy Grand Slam set to take place in Gstaad, Switzerland from July 2 to 8 went on sale on Thursday as fans continue to look forward to the new season.

It will be the 12th year in a row the circuit will visit the town, which is nestled high in the Alps, and was won by Brazilian pairs Larissa and Juliana, and Alison and Emanuel in 2011.

Although the tournament falls outside of the London 2012 Olympic qualification process (with the last chance to grab points the Rome Grand Slam in Italy from June 12 to 17) it still forms part of the crucial run up to the quadrennial event.

Tickets are available online at www.ticketcorner.ch. Tickets can also be bought at the office of the sports events in Gstaad Gstaad GmbH from December 12.

The news comes at the same time that the event was commended for its sustainability by ecosport.ch. The panel who awarded the organizing committee with the title consisted of representatives from the Swiss Olympic Committee as well as the Federal Agency for the Environment (FOEN), Sports (FOSPO), spatial development (ARE) and Energy (BFE) and the prize included a 30,000 CHF reward. The winners were presented at the sport.forum.schweiz in Lucerne.

Special praise was given to the multifunctional use of the infrastructure and the installation of innovative solar panels.
