The penultimate round of 12 double
gender stops on the 2011 FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour
will be hosted by the Netherlands as the international beach
volleyball circuit returns to The Hague for the third-straight
season from August 23-28. It is also the fourth-straight season that
the Netherlands has hosted an international event following the 2008
FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch Youth World Championships for players
under the age of 19 at Hommerson Beachstadion, the most popular
beach in the country. Last year's tournament, the final double
gender event of the year, saw USA's Casey Jennings and Kevin Wong
cause an upset in the men's contest by beating Brazil pair Bruno
Schmidt and Benjamin Insfran in the final to pick up their first
gold medal as fellow Americans Matt Fuerbringer and Nick Lucena
completed the podium with the bronze. In the women's contest Maria
Antonelli and Talita Antunes clinched their second tournament
victory of the year (after success in Marseilles, France) with a win
over China's Xue and Zhang in the final. Angie Akers and Tyra Turner
rounded off the top three with a bronze medal win. Angie Akers and
