The FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour
arrives on the shores of Morocco for the first time in its 22-year
history in October as the circuit continues to break into new
regions.
The north-African country has only ever
welcomed FIVB beach volleyball action on three previous occasions,
with FIVB challengers being held in the country in 2004, 2005 and
2006 and is only the second country on the continent to stage a
World Tour event following tournaments in Cape Town and Durban,
South Africa.
A bustling tourist city, Agadir sits on the
coast and is a regular destination for European holiday makers.
Famous for its sea food it has a population of over 200,000 and is
close to the foot of the Atlas Mountains.
