Lausanne, 20th July 2007 – From 24th to 29th of July the best Beach Volleyball players of the world will compete in Switzerland for the SWATCH FIVB World Championships. On Monday 23rd will take place the starting Press Conference.
One day before the start of the SWATCH FIVB 2007 World Championships powered by 1to1 energy a press conference will be held, hosting as guest Paul Laciga, Swiss player and one of the Beach Volleyball top athletes. Laciga will talk about his sportive and professional future after the World Championships. The tournament director, Mr. Ruedi Kunz, will announce to the press all the latest news about the tournament.
The press conference will be held on Monday 23rd July at 17h30 in the Media Centre, Beach Volleyball World Championships, Gstaad.
Balloons for “Right to Play”
2'000 flying balloons will close the SWATCH FIVB World Championships powered by 1to1 energy on Sunday, 29th July 2007 after the awarding ceremony. Together with the Organizing Committee, the humanitarian organization Right To Play has set up this project: visitors can take part in a unique happening by purchasing a symbolic “Right To Play balloon” for 5 Swiss Francs at the booth of the humanitarian organization in the Promenade of Gstaad. Buying a balloon gives the chance to win a double Beach Volleyball lesson with top beacher Patrick Heuscher as personal coach.
China Day: sports, politics and economy meeting in Gstaad
In regards to the Olympic Games in 2008 and the high importance of the SWATCH FIVB World Championships for the qualification to Beijing, the tournament organisation invited the Chinese ambassador Mr. Zhu Bangzao to an exchange with representatives of sports, politics and economy on Wednesday, 25th July. At 12h00 the official media date in view of the China Day will take place. A well known Chinese cook will officially present the “1st Chinese Beach-Noodels”. Afterwards the guests will follow a match with Chinese players on the Centre Court.
