Pires Tavares won their third gold medal of the 2003
SWATCH-FIVB World Tour on Saturday after defeating
America's Misty May and Kerri Walsh 21-19, 21-15 in the
final of the Norway Open. The Brazilians have now won
three of the four World Tour events this season and
their victory in front of a packed stadium in
Stavanger's ancient port allowed them to further extend
their lead at the top of the 2003 rankings.
