Vincente Araujo, FIVB Vice-President in charge of beach volleyball:

Poland is one of the places where volleyball is highly popular. This country can be called a "Volleyland". We are proud of the fact that we were able to delegate the organisation of the World Championships to Stare Jabłonki. Beach volleyball is a sport which has become more and more popular all over the world. Currently, there are more than 150 countries, which take part in volleyball competitions worldwide. I am sure that the World Championships in Poland will end successfully because of the fans, as well as the experience of the Polish Volleyball Federation. Stare Jabłonki is one of the most popular beach volleyball arenas and that’s why all the best players and fans come there. We believe that this tournament will make beach volleyball even more popular. We want to thank everyone for their tremendous support, especially the Ministry of Sport, the Polish Volleyball Federation and the FIVB and organiser’s  partners - the promoters of the event, as well as the region of Mazury.

Mirosław Przedpełski, President of Polish Volleyball Federation:

The dream of the Polish Volleyball Federation has finally come true. Poland is now the host of the year’s biggest volleyball event. At the press conference we met the most important people connected with the organisation of the tournament and I am sure that it will be an exceptional event. Last year Poland hosted the UEFA EURO 2012 tournament and now we are certain that sport is a very good tool to promote our country and we want to benefit from it. Our country did not take full advantage of the football European Championship and we want the World Championship in Stare Jabłonki to be different. Poland deserves to organise such an important event, since our country is called Poland-Volleyland. Poland is a very important part of the global image of volleyball. We will do our best to make the competition level very high. Our current financial investment in beach volleyball is much larger than it used to be. I hope that this year a beach volleyball pair from Poland will be able to stand on the podium of the World Championships, for the very first time in history. I would also like to thank the Dowgiałło family for their significant impact on the development of Polish beach volleyball. Without their help we would not be able to organise such an important event in Poland.

Andrzej Dowgiałło, Promoter of the World Championships:

We are very happy to organise such an important beach volleyball tournament in Poland. The Mazury region can host the World Championships on account of its many partners. Thanks to beach volleyball we can feel a breath of summer in snowy Warsaw. We are working very hard to make the tournament a major event from a cultural, recreational, sports and media perspective. We can already see supporters showing high enthusiasm for the tournament although media interest is rather low. Consequently, I would like to convince journalists that the FIVB World Championships Mazury 2013 will be the most important sport event of the year. I would like the tournament to be as influential as the UEFA European Championships in 2012 so as to promote our country worldwide. This is why we should all appreciate it and help each other. Although every year we spend enormous amounts of money to organise beach volleyball events, we don’t have a great deal of media support. This time we want the tournament to be really impressive. We anticipate that there will be around 150,000 people present during the week of the World Championship and we know that they will be satisfied with the event. And that will be the biggest award for us.

Tomasz Półgrabski, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Sport and Tourism:

In 2009 Poland hosted the European Women’s Volleyball Championships and the FIBA EuroBasket. Now we are going to organise the Beach Volleyball World Championships, which shows that Poland has become an important market in sport events. Polish people are friendly and hospitable and we should be proud of it. I am very happy that the event in Stare Jabłonki is organised by professionals who put a lot of effort to launch a competition, which will promote our country worldwide. In 2009 I had an opportunity to be in the Mazury region and I have to admit that it is a beautiful place. The Polish Ministry of Sport and Tourism declared that it will provide financial support for the organisation of the World Championships. We should be proud that such a tournament will be held in Poland. I believe that this competition will also be an opportunity for social integration. Additionally, the Polish Volleyball Federation should be an example for other sport federations. In Poland there are three Volleyball Sports Academies and beach volleyball players are trained in Łódź. The Polish Volleyball Federation has a lower budget than the Polish Football Federation but it has got enormous potential. I would like to congratulate the organisers for the implementation of such an initiative.

Jacek Protas, Marshal of Warmińsko-Mazurskie province:

Los Angeles, Berlin, Rome, and now – Stare Jabłonki. It sounds very nice, however, we should emphasise that it was not a random choice of the FIVB. The World Championships are a prestigious event and the delegation of that tournament to Stare Jabłonki is in recognition of its organisation of the World Tour competitions. Over the last few years we have shown our ability to organise high-level sport events and all the supporters, players and coaches really appreciate it. This is also a great honour for the Mazury region to be the host of such an important event. We are happy that we will be able to show the world our beautiful region, which is included on the list of 14 New Natural Wonders of the World. This is also the reason why our region is worth visiting and being the host of such an important event as the Beach Volleyball World Championships.
