HOLTWICK & SEMMLER
Together since: 2006 (86)
Katrin Holtwick and Ilka Semmler have been playing together on
the FIVB World Tour since 2006 and are now firmly established as
Germany’s top pairing after a string of impressive results, including
a bronze medal at the Stare Jablonki Grand Slam last year as well
as at the Fuzhou Open, the World Cup Final and The Hague Grand
Slam this year. They made their Olympic debuts at the London 2012
Olympic Games and that same year won a gold medal at the Aland
Open and bronze at the Stare Jablonki Grand Slam. They won silver
medals at the 2008 Silesia Open in Myslowice, Poland and the 2011
Beijing Grand Slam and finished second at the 2010 European
Championships in Berlin. Both players enjoyed success at the U21
level before they graduated to the World Tour. Holtwick won silver at
the 2003 U21 World Championships alongside Maria Kleefisch, while
in 2004 Semmler finished fourth alongside Laura Ludwig at the FIVB
U21 World Championships in Porto Santo, Portugal.
