FIVB BEACH VOLLEYBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
MAZURY 2013 MEDIA GUIDE
MARIA CLARA & CAROL
Together: 2003-2011 (101) // from 2013 (5)
The Salgado sisters are back together after Carolina missed the entire
2012
season while pregnant with her first child and in which Maria-
Clara played with a variety of partners. They began 2013 in good style
by winning the bronze medals at the Corrientes and Shanghai Grand
Slams before claiming silver at The Hague. Stare Jablonki is their fourth
World Championships together. Maria Clara won the 2001 FIVB U21
World Championships in Fortaleza alongside Shaylyn Bede and then
two years later the sisters won U21 bronze in Saint Quay Portrieux
in France. In the same year Carolina won silver in the U19 World
Championships with Barbara Seixas and a year later they repeated
the result in Termoli, Italy. Carolina then won gold at the 2004 U21
World Championships with Taiana Lima. Before they reunited on the
court, their most recent success came in 2011 when they won a Grand
Slam medal for the first time, with silver at Stare Jablonki.
