Stare Jablonki
Located in north-east Poland, in the Mazury Lake District,
the village of Stare Jablonki is in the heart of one of the
most popular tourist destinations in Poland and each year
hundreds of thousands of tourists flock to the 2,000 lakes
that make up the region.
Stare Jablonki is 11 kilometres away from the region’s main
town, Ostroda, while the nearest major city is Gdansk on
Poland’s Baltic coast, located 140 kilometres away.
Pine trees surround the lake and much of the surrounding
countryside. The logging industry has traditionally provided
a major source of employment for much of the local
population.
The lakes are at the heart of life in the Mazury region and
provide opportunities to swim, sail and kayak, while the
countryside provides kilometres of walking trails and the
chance to visit historic castles and ancient houses.
