FIVB BEACH VOLLEYBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
MAZURY 2013 MEDIA GUIDE
SEMENOV & KOSHKAREV
Together since: 2011 (24)
The 24-year-old Konstantin Semenov and the 28-year-old Yaroslav
Koshkarev are playing their second FIVB Beach Volleyball World
Championships after they participated at Rome 2011, where they
were eliminated in the knockout rounds for a ninth-place finish. The
duo’s best result in senior FIVB tournaments came at The Hague Open
in 2011 where they showed their potential as a team by winning
bronze. This year they played in the first three tournaments on the
FIVB international calendar – the Fuzhou Open and Shanghai and
Corrientes Grand Slams – plus the Rome Grand Slam. Koshkarev
made his senior FIVB debut at the 2005 St Petersburg Open, while
Semenov debuted at the 2009 Sanya Open and he also competed at
the London 2012 Olympic Games where he and Serguei Prokopiev
finished ninth. Koshkarev made his name in beach volleyball when he
and Ruslan Daynov won silver at the 2002 U19 World Championships
in Xylokastro, Greece.
