The Stadium capacity is over 4000 seats. Including a roofed reserved area of 250 seats for media, delegations, sponsors, authorities, officials, etc. There will be 8 courts including 2 warm-up courts equipped with FIVB homologated materials.

Athletes must be born on January 1st, 1985 or thereafter.
Competition Formula

The tournament will consist of a qualification tournament and a Main Draw. 4 Wild cards for each gender event.
Country quota: 1 team for each nation and 2 teams for host country. At the qualification tournament, a maximum of 16 teams will allowed to enter. Among them the 4 top ranked teams will advance to the main draw. The Main Draw will be composed of a Preliminary Phase and a Final Phase.

Preliminary phase (Round robin - 24 teams per each gender)

Six Pools of 4 teams each. 

The preliminary phase will be played with the round robin system.

Final phase (Direct elimination - 16 teams per each gender)

The best 2 teams of each group plus the best four pair ranked 3rd with the best point ratio will advance to the 16 teams direct elimination bracket.

Seeding and detailed information on the competition will be distributed to athletes during the Technical Meeting and available on the FIVB and the promoter’s web site.

Qualification criteria

One team per country through nomination of the National Federation.

Host country can enter a maximum of 2 teams.

Notes: 

1. Priority to be given to:
     a) The NFs promoting World Tour events
     b)
The countries with athletes featured in the FIVB World Ranking.
   c)
NFs promoting continental events and grass roots activities.

2. Each continent will be guaranteed one team. 

3. The 2001 World Championships Under 21 in France event’s ranking may also be taken into consideration for entry purposes.

Tuesday 27 August: Arrival of Qualification Tournament teams.
19:00 Preliminary Inquiry at the National Youth Center, opposite Town Hall for verification of passports, uniforms, accessories and FIVB forms.
20.00 Technical meeting at the National Youth Center, opposite Town Hall for list of attendance, competition, information, seeding, etc.
Wed. 28 August: Arrival of teams for the Main Draw.
9.00 Start of Qualification tournament.
19:00 Preliminary Inquiry at the National Youth Center, opposite Town Hall for verification of passports, uniforms, accessories and FIVB forms.

Thurs 29-Fri 30 August Preliminary Phase (2 days - 6 groups of 4 teams each playing round robin with 24 teams – 2 top ranked teams for each group will qualify for the final phase, plus the best 4 teams ranked at the 3rd place)
Sat. 31 August Departure of teams not qualifying in Final Phase.
9.00 Start of the Final Phase.
Sun 1 September Final Phase.
Mon 2 September Departure of teams and officials.
