During the last Beach Volleyball Board of Administration in March 2008 the following decision has been taken:

For FIVB recognition of a National Tour, the NF concerned is required to abide by the following regulations:

1.     Each NF willing to stage a National Tour must request FIVB the recognition of its event(s) providing the FIVB with its complete calendar featuring the prize money, hosting cities, gender and dates. Such a National Tour should feature at least 3 events.

2.     Each host NF must request such recognition from FIVB through the appropriate form which will be provided in due time;

3.     The name of another sports organization or promoter cannot be featured in the title of a National Tour.

4.     Only registered athletes being in good standing with its FIVB affiliated NF may take part to a National Tour (in the host country and abroad)

5.     Foreign players may be invited only through their respective NF.

6.     International players’ participation agreement between the two NFs concerned is required when anyone of the top 32 teams in the World Ranking per gender are invited for the whole National Tour. The agreement must be previously registered within and approved by the FIVB not later than 30 days prior to the National Tour event concerned and the receiving promoter or NF must pay to the FIVB a 3000 USD administration fee.

7.     The participation of foreign teams is limited as follows:

        7.1 For 16-team main draw 2 foreign pairs may participate, but limited to three tournaments.

        7.2 For 24/32-team main draw 4 foreign pairs may participate, but limited to three tournaments.

        7.3 After playing the specified number of tournaments the initial players may be replaced by another equal number of pairs from another Country.

8.     8.       In case of a clash with a World Tour event, the top 32 teams in the World Ranking of the gender cannot take part in such a National Tour leg, with the exception of the host country teams, unless they are also required by the FIVB for the World Tour event concerned.

9.     9.       Foreign teams can only be featured with the names of the athletes while they cannot be promoted as representatives of their country.

10.   10.      Players taking part in a National Tour event not sanctioned by the corresponding National Volleyball Federation or not recognized by the FIVB are liable to disqualification and non eligibility for any Volleyball and Beach Volleyball National event, Continental events and FIVB events including World Championships and the Olympic Games.

        11. These regulations must be immediately implemented by all affiliated NFs.

        12.   Youth/Junior National Tours must also undergo through the above homologation process if the organizers are willing to invite foreign teams which exact number may be determined as per paragraph 7 of these regulations.
