Burundi, July 8, 2012- Burundi President of the Republic Pierre Nkurunziza receives this weekend the Burundian Junior Beach Volleyball team, the winners of the first ever CAVB Beach Junior Cup that concluded in the Togo Capital of Lome early this month.
The President of the republic honoured the pairing of Briand Mugabowingabo/ Bruce Dukundane who defeated South Africa in the Men’s final at Lome beach as they were accompanied by Burundi Volleyball Federation President Louis Rwakiranya.
“I hope you good luck in your mission to represent Africa at the World Championship in Halifax, Canada August 29 to September 2 and we will do our best to support you to perform your utmost at the World scene,” Said Burundi President of the Republic happily.
“We appreciate the work done by the federation led by Louis Rwakiranya to achieve the great dream for the first time in the history of our country. This proves that good leaders usually bring up great success.” He added.
Rwakiranya described to the president the great work done in the last few years to put Burundi for the first time at the African volleyball map and enumerated the results achieved by the pairing of Mugabowingabo/ Dukundane at the CAVB Continental Cup which was the African Qualifier to 2012 London Olympic Games.
“We will have a disciplined preparation programme for the team to represent Africa in Canada August 29 to September 2 in the best way,” Rwakiranya said. “We now welcome any sponsor to take care of that golden team which constitutes a great hope for the whole country.”
